Crispy Air Fryer Bacon

Now, time to talk about bacon lovers; it is no secret that cooking bacon on your stovetop is a big hassle. The warm oil pops and sizzles, spattering entirely over your stove top, and cleaning after that is no simple feat.

I have backed bacon in the microwave oven, too, but seriously, nothing is easy and less greasy – than cooking bacon in the air fryer.

Reason to cook bacon in your air fryer

  • Fast – it only takes eight minutes for crispy bacon compared to preheating the oven and then baking for twenty minutes.

  • No mess – it is self-contained with minimal splatter than cooking on the stovetop, backing in the oven, or microwaving.

  • Hands-free – you do not have to baby this bacon, no more standing by the stovetop, flipping bacon.

Thick cut vs. regular bacon

Both regular-cut and thick-cut bacon crisp up perfectly in the air fryer.

This cut takes slightly less time, so popup in just eight minutes, and thick-cut can take up to ten minutes. As for that bacon is better, that is up to you!

If you love crispy bacon, add a minute or 2 to the cooking period. Still, the times listed will provide you with firm, crunchy, melt-in-your-mouth bacon.

Cooking bacon in the air fryer

Cooking bacon in your air fryer is a brainer!

Preheat the air fryer to 375 degrees F. Place the bacon in one layer in the basket of the air fryer. Then cook for a few more minutes.

Depending on the basket size, you might need to tear and bend the bacon pieces to get them to fit.

Take a peek at the bacon and flip it with silicon tongs if required.

After checking, pop the basket into the air fryer and cook the bacon until it hits your desired doneness, about four to five minutes longer for crispy strips.

Depending on the air fryer size and how much bacon you try to cook, you might need to air fry the bacon in many batches.

Just be sure to wipe down the air fryer among collections and clean the machine when you are done. When done, very carefully remove the bacon with tongs.

Why do we love cooking bacon in the air fryer?

Bacon can be a tricky meal to cook. Traditional stovetop bacon cooking techniques leave you with grease splatter entire over it. When I am already tired and not quite awake, I want my bacon to be as simple as possible in the morning.

Also, if you are not very careful full a couple of bacon kisses, using an air fryer, you get crispy and perfect bacon quickly with minor cleanup and no splatter!

I love putting the bacon in the machine and moving on to something else for a few minutes, which makes getting a complete meal on the table significantly easier.

It is the countertop variation of cooking bacon in the air fryer, and I love it!!! If I need to keep your bacon hot after cooking, just put it on a cookie sheet in the microwave oven at a low temp. This does the trick, and all hit the table fresh and hot with minimal cursing on my part, and everybody is happy.

Cooking an entire package of bacon at once

The ideal way to cook and complete a package of bacon is to use racks. You can lay out the bacon on air fryer racks.

To ensure crisping, check halfway and rearrange the bacon strips as required.

Tips and tricks

  • Cut the back in half – if you do not want your bacon to touch and you wish to cook up extra fast, then cut the strips in half, so they lay down flat in the basket.
  • Like them, excellent for some time – bacon crisps up as it cools within time; do not let it get very crispy during cooking unless you love it that way.
  • Bacon fat empty– if your air fryer starts smoking much, the fat back in the basket is getting too warm. Always make sure you empty it before coming into subsequent bacon batches.
  • Use an air fryer rack for cooking the entire package – I love to use frames so I can quickly cook bacon as a whole package at once. You will have to rearrange them halfway through to ensure all is evenly crisped.

How does an air fryer work?

An air fryer is a kitchen appliance that uses hot air to cook food. The hot air circulates the food, cooking it evenly on all sides.

Air fryers typically have a basket or tray that holds the food. The basket is placed in the air fryer, and the hot air circulates, cooking the food.

Some air fryers have a timer and temperature control, so you can set it to cook for a certain amount of time at a specific temperature. Other air fryers have an on/off switch.

Air fryers are becoming increasingly popular because they offer a healthier alternative to deep frying. When you deep fry food, it is cooked in oil, which can be unhealthy. Very little oil is needed with an air fryer, and the food is cooked evenly and crisply.

If you’re looking for a healthier way to cook bacon, try cooking it in an air fryer!
